If you are new to Woodshed Art Auctions or online auctions in general, these are some of the most common questions we receive about the auction process.
If you do not find an answer to your query, feel free to contact us directly and a member of the Woodshed Art Auctions team will be in touch shortly.
Woodshed Art Auctions offers monthly live online art auctions comprised of Impressionist, Modern, and Post-War paintings, prints, drawings, photos and sculpture from all continents. Our auctions are focused exclusively on artwork; we do not sell antiques, jewelry, or furniture.
At Woodshed Art Auctions, we deal exclusively in art, specializing in the Impressionist, Modern, and Post-War periods, and approach the field with both sensitivity for the art and a pragmatic recognition of the needs of collectors, estates, and gallery owners. In addition to showing pieces to the most interested worldwide audience, often only accessible through large auction houses, we provide each consigner the level of personal service often associated with smaller auction houses.
Parties interested in Woodshed Art Auctions’ art need to register to bid. If you do not currently have an account, you can register here.
Once an account is created, you will be able to bid on artwork. Our auctions accept pre-auction bidding as well as live bidding.
Pre-Auction Bidding: Should you want to place a bid before an auction, you will enter the maximum price you want to pay for the piece. Once the auction commences, the bidding platform will place bids on your behalf until your maximum price is reached or you win the auction.
Live Bidding: You may also bid during the live auction event. While the piece of interest is being auctioned off, you can continue to submit bids until the item is sold.
We do not offer refunds. All artwork is sold as is, and all sales are final. We provide detailed information on the condition and provenance of the piece in the auction catalog. Should you have a specific question on a piece in one of our auctions, please contact us in advance of the auction for more details on the item of interest.
While art auctions are our primary business, Woodshed Art Auctions also provides appraisals, restoration services, framing, and consignment. If you are interested in any of our services, we encourage you to contact us to schedule an appointment.
Yes, and Woodshed Art Auctions is currently accepting consignments. Artworks may be submitted for Woodshed Art Auctions to sell by the piece or an entire collection. We accept paintings, prints, drawings, photos, and sculpture. If you are interested in sharing artworks to be considered for consignment, we encourage you to submit an online evaluation form or arrange an appointment with our proprietor.
Woodshed Art Auctions’ proprietor is Bruce Wood, a 45-year veteran of the art auction industry as well as a licensed auctioneer, gallery owner, painter, conservator, and art connoisseur.
A seller’s commission is standard fee that will be applied to all sales and is determined by the hammer price. Additional fees may be incurred to cover cost of insurance and shipment. Potential consignors can contact Woodshed Art Auctions to learn more about our rates and fees.
Our auctioneer will review your artwork once it is submitted for evaluation. If the piece meets our auction criteria, we will work with you to establish a starting price and a plan for listing the artwork in an upcoming auction. The piece will then be submitted for auction and, once it sells, you will receive the payout after 30 days. Learn more
